#ldsconf

Can I start by just saying I LOVE CONFERENCE WEEKEND! Being able to hear from the prophet and other church leaders is such a blessing and privilege. They truly are guided by our Heavenly Father on what they need to say to the members of the church as well as all those listening. I always take something away from each and every talk I listen to. It is such a wonderful way to feel the spirit, be reminded of what is important, as well as trigger gospel discussions in the home and with friends. For the first time in years I was actually home for all 4 sessions on conference. In the past I have always had to work during the Saturday sessions so it was wonderful to be home with my family to be able to watch conference on TV. I was able to hear almost all of the talks with a few exceptions. (I guess this is to be expected when you have a 2 month old baby who desires your attention) So here are my favorite points from all the talks I was able to pay attention to:

President Thomas S. Monson: We must walk AS Jesus walked, to obey is better than to sacrifice, and we need to be a little better, kinder, thoughtful, respectful, and honest.

President Henry B. Eyring: We need revelation from God, a continuous stream of light through the Gift of the Holy Ghost.

President Dieter F. Uchtdorf: Search the Word of God, ask Heavenly Father to manifest the truth, live the Gospel doctrines. Each time we seek light we show that we are ready for more light. If I do my part, it will come and it will be glorious.

Elder L. Tom Perry: Come unto me and I will give you rest.

Elder Russell M. Nelson: By sustaining the Prophet I am making a personal commitment to follow him.

Elder Dallin H. Oaks: Why is it so difficult to have Christlike love? Kindness is powerful.

Elder M. Russell Ballard: Do I lose my way during times of hardships or blessings? I need to experience a continuous conversion. It is okay to ask honest sincere questions about the doctrines of the church.

Elder Richard G. Scott: Four fundamental tools for my salvation: Prayer, study the scriptures, have Family Home Evening, and go to the temple.

Elder Robert D. Hales: Study the love between Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Have a house of God.

Elder Jeffrey R. Holland: We OBTAIN a remission of our sins through God, we RETAIN a remission of our sins by serving those around us.

Elder David A. Bednar: As we turn to Christ we also turn outward to serve and share. We have the absolute truth.

Elder Neil L. Anderson: Gain a personal witness of Joseph Smith by studying his testimony. Never doubt the testimony of the Lord's Prophet.

Tad R. Callister (Sunday School President): We are our child's primary gospel teacher.

Edwardo Gavarret (of the Seventy): We can relieve life's challenges by following Christ.

Carol F. McConkie (1st Counselor in YW Presidency): Comfort, love, strength and endurance can come from listening to the Prophet.

James J. Hamula (of the Seventy): Our bodies will rise and be restored to our eternal spirits. During the sacrament we take upon us the name of Christ.

Watch, listen to, or read all the talks from conference at lds.org. For anyone who isn't a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or someone who is investigating the church I highly recommend Elder David A. Bednar's talk.
