state fair

Today Garret took Gracie and me out on a date to the State Fair. We had lots of fun browsing through all the arts and crafts, seeing the animals, listening to live music, we even watched a dog show.

Gracie did awesome for her first time at the fair. She only needed to eat once and she didn't fuss at all. Although she did make some funny faces when we were walking by all the animals. I think it was because of the smell.

Garret and I treated ourselves to this years official State Fair food. A chicken waffle on a stick, complete with maple syrup dipping sauce. It actually wasn't too bad. Probably not the healthiest though...

The dog show we saw was pretty great. They had all these rescued dogs that they had trained to catch frisbee, do flips, high jumps, and well and diving into a pool. One of the dogs was able to jump 30 feet off the ramp into the pool. It was pretty impressive.

We also wandered through all the carnival rides and laughed at how sick they would make us feel if we went on them. We had a bad experience with carnival rides 2 years ago and got pretty nauseous. Since then we agreed to never go on them again haha... Maybe we will be able to handle the merry go round or the fun slide though when Gracie gets a little bigger.

Overall we had a blast at the Fair. It is always fun to get out of the house and do something different.
